Dynamic Youth Coaching
Inspire and empower young people on this cutting edge programme

-
How long does the course last?
-
The course should take around 6 to 10 months to complete. However, there is no set end time and you may take as long as you need to complete it.
-
-
Why is the course duration variable?
-
The course is of variable duration because it partly depends on how long it takes each student to complete his or her real-life coaching outside of the training weekends. We keep this open as we appreciate that our students are often full time employed or running their own business and so need to manage the training to suit their needs.
-
-
Can I manage the training while still working full time?
-
Absolutely! All of our courses are geared towards people who are either working full time, parenting full time or running their own business. Our aim is to ensure you can complete the course and become an expert in your chosen area of coaching or NLP without creating upheaval and unrealistic burdens on you. That’s why the training takes place at the weekend to avoid disrupting your working week and the support takes place online recognising that not everyone has the time to attend live events in the evenings.
-
-
Why do you train on weekends?
-
At the moment all of our courses take place at the weekend as this means our students do not need to disrupt their working week. We appreciate that some people work at weekends or have commitments then but we have found that for the majority of people weekends are the best time to avoid taking annual leave to train with us.
-
-
Who is the course designed for?
-
The course is for people who want to work with young people to inspire, empower and challenge them to live to their potential. It is ideal for existing youth related professionals who want to add a new approach to their working methods and it’s also perfect for those who want to work as independent youth coaching contracting with schools, charities and families to work with young people individually or in groups.
-
-
What makes this course different from other coaching courses?
-
There is currently no other course like this available. Whilst there are some other youth coaching courses on the market, none offer the level of training, experience and mix of skills that Dynamic Youth Coaching offers. The combination of live training, mentoring, real-life practice, video based learning and a programme for creating your own practice is absolutely unique.
-
-
What is the real-life case study coaching practice for?
-
Imagine learning to drive from a book and passing a written test. Then you take a real car out onto a real road! That would clearly be crazy and yet this happens a lot in coach training! For us, it’s important you have real experience and so as part of the course you will complete 30 hours of real-life youth coaching (or 50 hours including group coaching) outside of the training environment. By coaching real-life clients you will gain the experience and confidence needed to continue as a coach after you qualify. Coaching is a practical skill and if you only learn it as theory you will almost certainly not be as effective as you could be and you will probably never use the skills in practice as you won’t have that foundation of having done it.
-
-
Where do I get the practice clients from?
-
Most people who train on this course will already have connections with young people in some way which is why they join the course. So we expect you will be able to source a range of clients from your own connections or within your existing work. However, we have built a range of contacts in the youth environment who are keen to engage the work of a youth coach and we will work with you to try to secure a place in such places should you struggle to find practice client work.
-
-
What is the mentoring for?
-
The mentoring supports you with your coaching practice and with any other concerns you have on your path to qualification. Mentoring takes place monthly and allows you to discuss your client work in detail exploring where you have challenges as well as what is working well for you.
-
-
What is the Youth Coaching Smart Zone video learning site?
-
The Smart Zone is an online members area with hours of videos which cover the course material in detail allowing you to access it whenever and wherever you want to back up the live training.
-
-
Is there any written work?
-
We believe that coaching is fundamentally a human relationship skill and so do not require any written work for the course. We recognise that continuous learning will always improve your skills as a coach but we don’t believe that making you write essays demonstrates your ability to connect with your clients and create positive coaching sessions.
-
-
How do I qualify?
-
To qualify you need to attend all five weekends of live, complete your live coaching hours and submit three case studies of your work.
-
-
How big are the training groups?
-
We ensure that we keep our groups small enough that the trainer can have close engagement with each member of the group to ensure you’re on track and getting what you need from the training. On our Dynamic Youth Coaching course, our groups are never larger than 16 people.
-
-
How many hours live training and total study hours is this course?
-
The is comprised of 65 hours of live training. The total study time is around 150 hours including completion of the case study coaching, reflective learning, online videos, mentoring and webinars.
-
-
Do I need to be CRB checked?
-

This combines the traditional models of coaching with a whole new set of approaches and techniques drawn from a wide range of styles to create the integrative style and give you flexibility of approach.
If you want to become a highly-skilled NLP Practitioner using the full range of skills such as trance, hypnosis and the wide range of NLP interventions, then our NLP Practitioner and Hypnotherapy course is for you.
Both courses aim to create excellence and this website offers you a full overview.
What makes your courses different?
Our courses were built with the principle question of “What creates excellence?” and that shines through.
The small group training makes sure we can get to know you personally and offer you precise and timely feedback to help you improve. The supervision, which is a core part of all our courses, ensures you are on track in terms of progress towards qualification as well as the quality of your client work.
The monthly meetings, open to both our coaches and NLP practitioners, ensure a regular network to share challenges and seek solutions.
And the online resources, documents and videos along with full course manuals ensure you always have the information you need to hand.
Are your courses accredited?
Credibility in the coaching industry is extremely important. That's why our courses are fully accredited to ensure you can be confident of their quality and standing.
In fact, the Diploma in Coaching Excellence is a recognised UK qualification awarded by the independent body, the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning.
Our NLP course is accredited by the highly respected British Institute of Hypnotherapy and NLP.
We know that you want to feel you have a good backing for your training and our accreditation offers you that assurance.
Who is the Diploma for?
The Diploma in Coaching Excellence is for people who want to train to become a life coach, a performance coach within an organisation or an executive coach.
We particularly attract two kinds of people. We find we are highly sought after by people who want to become independent, self-employed coaches who build their own practice. That’s because we pay a lot of attention to what each coach wants to do with their course after they qualify and we provide the forum and workshops to explore issues like discovering your niche, learning how to market what you do and also looking at other ways to help your target market.
But we also attract HR managers and learning and development professionals who want to learn advanced coaching skills to use within the workplace. In this case, it's the depth of the learning and the formal qualification that makes it so attractive.
What kind of qualities do you need?
This course is for you if you want to become truly excellent at coaching. In other words, it’s not just about getting a certificate – it’s about getting good!
And that means being prepared to put the time into coaching outside of the training weekends, reflect on your practice and engage in the supervision to improve continuously. The course is fun and inspirational but you need to want to learn, to challenge yourself and to take the action needed to become exceptional as a coach.
It’s about finding the passion that makes this whole process make sense, so we’re looking for people who really care about what it means to them to become a coach and to make a difference with what they do.
We also provide a real sense of community and a place for likeminded people to share their coaching journey so it’s important to be happy to mix and bond with your fellow coaches.
Overall we attract positive, determined people who want the coaching course to make a difference in some way to their lives and are enthused about the journey.
How is the course different?
There are plenty of coaching courses out there. So what’s makes ours different?
We can sum up the difference in three phrases: integrative coaching, real qualification, highly practical.
Firstly, the diploma teaches the latest developments in coaching which have emerged from coaching psychology and fuses a range of styles into the integrative framework we call the 6Cs. You will learn coaching skills that few other schools teach. Time and again this has been highlighted by our coaches as one of the most attractive elements of the school when they joined. Ultimately, it’s one of the things that will turn you into an exceptional coach.
Our course offers a real qualification because although we teach the skills and provide the support, the certificate and record of success is awarded by a UK awarding body, the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning – that’s still pretty rare in the coaching world.
Finally, our course is all about how you take what you learn and apply it in the real world. We teach some highly specialised coaching knowledge but we always boil it down to “what do you do with it?” as ultimately this is what’s important.
