Dynamic Youth Coaching
ContentThe five training weekends build sequentially to ensure you can work with young people one-to-one or in groups on the full range of issues they bring you and in a wide range of environments.
Module 1: Core Youth Coaching Skills
In your first weekend of training, you will explore the youth coaching work and learn core skills of coaching:
- Introducing Dynamic Youth Coaching and its context
- How it fits with other ways to work with young people
- Principles of coaching
- The TOOLKIT coaching mode
- INSPIRE goal setting
- Coaching questions and authentic listening
- Creating safe space
- Establishing the coaching relationship
Module 2: The Dynamic Youth Coaching Model
This weekend, you will cover the unique Dynamic Youth Coaching Model. This systemic approach to youth coaching allows you to map a young person’s world from their internal experience to the external circumstances and their desired outcomes in each area. You’ll cover: For your own business, you will design your sales funnel and begin to develop the marketing strategy to gain clients.

- From plan to action
Module 3: Harnessing the power of groups
There’s a good chance that much of your youth coaching will be done in groups, whether that’s in schools, local organisations, clubs or voluntary bodies. In this module, you’ll learn group facilitation and the art of workshops with young people. You will also explore two of the strategies in terms of how you can use them to get results for your business practice.

- Group dynamics
- Creating the group and forming the bond
- Trust, sharing and safety
- Managing individuals in the group
- Harnessing the group
- Moving from group to individual decision
- Managing personal state
Module 4: Creativity and Engagement
A major challenge of youth coaching is engaging the young people in the first place. There can often be invisible barriers to connection based on one or both sides. Using creativity, drama, music and other forms of engagement can be hugely effective in overcoming this whether that’s working with children in schools and young adults in a youth setting. This weekend you’ll discover: You’ll cover:
- The art of creative engagement
- Engaging young people in the creative process
- The CREATE Model for designing approaches
- 5 highly-effective creative models
- Using metaphors and storytelling
- Harnessing your personal skills in the creative process
- Connection making
Module 5: Empowering Young People for Self-Management
In the final weekend you’ll learn powerful techniques which can be used with young people to manage their own state be that in terms of self-esteem, anger, confidence, nerves. You’ll also explore how to help young people find and meet their own life values and build lasting self-respect. You’ll learn:
