Why choose the Smart School?
Each of of our programmes gives you different skills to ensure you have what you need to work with your clients.
But each programmes shares our approach to developing these practical skills and uses these same core approaches:
Live Classroom Training
At the heart of each programme sits the live training weekends. Every weekend blends theory and knowledge with practise creating a safe space to try out new approaches.
You’ll have mentoring throughout your journey so that you can overcome any challenges around client work or your journey through the course itself. Mentoring ensures that you stay on track and achieve your outcomes from the programme.
Real Life Practice
The programmes are delivered over a number of months to ensure you have time to practise the skills. Each course requires you to complete a set amount of real-life practice so that you gain the confidence to take your skills in to the real world after qualification.
Each programme includes a blend of supplementary video learning, a full resource kit and an interactive online community to ensure you have all you need to keep motivated and confident between and after training weekends.
Warm Caring Community
Each programme has its own online and offling community where students stay in touch, support one another, share successes and challenges and generally make great friends for life. We find this is an important element in creating the right environment for fun, positive and confident learning.
Although the methods differ for each programme, you will complete the course with an assessment that allows you to feel confident that you have mastered the skills and are ready to practise them professionally.

What is supervision in coaching?
As a training coach or NLP practitioner will go through a journey of learning and discovery as you train and put your coaching skills to practise. You will face your own challenges, your own highs and lows and your own “aha!" moments.
It’s very important that you receive the ongoing support of a supervisor who can guide you on your journey both in terms of individual client cases and also a more general reflection on your practice and what needs to be learned and improved.
The Smart School offers a comprehensive supervision to our courses to ensure you make those improvements successfully and deliver truly excellent coaching to your clients.
What’s the benefit of small groups for training?
We want the coaches who train with us to really understand and be able to practise what they learn. It’s not enough that we teach it, we want to see it being used. So we ensure that all our groups are small and personal, allowing us to get to know each person individually.
That way we can work on your strengths, develop areas that are weaker and channel the coaching skills in a way that is in tune with how you want to use it in the wider world.
It also means we can hear from each person about their journey so far and how the coaching skills we teach are being used to ensure that news skills are delivered in the context of actual experience.
What makes a Smart School trainer?
All our trainers are practising coaches with their own businesses. It’s important to us that our trainers continue to develop their skills and reflect their actual coaching practice. Otherwise, it’s easy for trainers to just simply repeat the "same old stuff" without it being based on fresh practice.
Our trainers come from a variety of backgrounds including a full time internal corporate coach and several coaches with their own active coaching business.
When you train to become a coach with the Smart School, you can be sure that the trainers live and breathe coaching rather than merely repeating book-learning.
